  • Thanks for the last sentence, I feared it might build up to this 😁

I’d say in this old question “are we bodies or do we have bodies?” It’s the prior. Deduct your ability to question your existence and…you just do. A tardigrade does have that spark of life too. But what is it? Nothing special I’d argue. Us speculating about this is just the epitome of that spark. A gift, a curse (looking at how our species acts, I’d say the latter)…but just something that happened and multiplicated successfully.

  • Having lived here for over half a century now, and having met a ton of people and having get to know a solid portion of them better, I could safely say:

My wife and myself. The rest I would not bet a TicTac on. Homo homini lupus est. People are nice to you, even seem like “good people”, but, as another comment or already said, people are contextual.

Be a tiny bit different from the mass and you’d notice why. People are nice to you as long as you provide some kind of benefit to them. Now or in the future. Even worse if you have money and they know it.

Yet, Despite me being misanthropic as hell, I still do care about my fellow species-members (everything living actually) and do voluntary work for disabled people and stuff like that. And yes, I know that most of them would probably sell me to one of Dante’s circles of hell to get rid of their disability. But there are always some pearls somewhere in the ocean. It’s worth finding them. Tiresome and frustrating, but worth it.

The victims are those who want musk punished. Sadly those beyond ‘rich’ are basically untouchable. The minute you wrote this, musk made more than the insurance would raise. And even if he would not have, what would happen? If you had a million and I’d rob you of a fraction of a cent, how much would that affect you?

  • Haha, so true. I really really miss the “old” interwebz. Imagine the content of back-then with the hardware of today. The dream of yesteryear would come true. A blazingly fast net. Just html with a bit of JS (when really needed). Not 10 frameworks (each used for one function), dozens of mb of graphics, a gazillion of cookies and tracker-scripts and… Jeez.

Today i need so much stuff to fight the other stuff, it’s stuffmageddon.

Oh and if you’re also European you can also fight (for free!) the silly cookie-war.
