Have you ever thought how GUI is made? It doesn’t just spawn in there. It requires work and I’m not saying there isn’t anti gui community among us. But it sure is a way of coping. The real issue is funding and management. The big foss projects that have funding most of the time have proper ux except a few(gimp, management issue again).
tldr: The post is taking about gatekeeping and I’m talking about why gatekeeping became normal.
Yeah. Gatekeeping by selling your product for free. Guess how much an Apple/Microsoft engineer makes vs a Linux one. Lmao.
Ummm… Both gnome and kde apps should work on any desktop environment
Tbh on pc, I can have multiple accounts with different workspaces but the main problem is on mobile. It’s been 6 years and their progress isn’t even transparent. They keep moving the issue tracker and I searched so much but couldn’t find their issue tracker. The fact that this was the most requested and now imagine the condition of slightly less popular requests.
Really feel like some of these bigger projects should hire a competent leadership.
Agree. Similar example is Matrix Element multi-account request. It’s the most requested but we still don’t know it’s roadmap.
Some lemmy users really love getting mad xD. Can’t believe I thought I would say this but reddit gaming subs are not this bad. Idk if it’s just me but It doesn’t excite me to check the comments anymore.
Am I the only one that interpreted it as him calling himself foolish?
Definitely a one off thing case here. Last week he was on mint and now on arch with hyprland already. He doesn’t upload that much so he’s probably experimenting a lot.
I don’t think that was the goal cause he didn’t post like a post, it’s a story. Engagement on it is not visible and as far as I’m aware, it doesn’t boost anything.
Also Linux would be the last place any influencer would go for engagement farming.
My humble request. Please translate to English.
All of these comments here are also on lemmy so I don’t think that’s a comparable sample.
